2005 Bull Sale Report

                                                                                                           



A very successful sale was held on Friday 5th August at "Springfield" Wallangra. The sale averaged a very healthy $6268 for a total clearance of 56 bulls and a sale gross of $351,000.

The top priced bull was Lot 12, Clunie Range Vibrant Y144 sold to AO Hartmann, Tingha for $15,000. A big strong 906kg bull with capacity, muscle and softness.

Clunie Range Yukon Y71 sold for $11,000 to repeat buyer Trevor Rissman, Yelarbon who has bought some of our top priced bulls over the last three years. Yukon was an 862kg october drop son of Future Direction and was the heaviest weight for age bull in the sale.

Repeat buyers made up the volume buyers on the day. Vince & Jennifer Altass, North Star who purchased 4 bulls to a top of $7500 and an average of $6000. David Savill, Milmerran bought 3 bulls. Peter Campbell, Goondiwindi purchased 3 bulls at an$6833 after buying 4 bulls at last years sale, and Phillip Reardon, Graman purchased 2 bulls for $8500 and $8000.

A very large crowd over of 250 people were present to see an outstanding draft of bulls with 94 registered bidders. After the sale everyone was treated to the business end of the Clunie Range production with a choice of a "Golden Angus" steak sandwich or two traditional Korean dishes. Clunie Range has been feeding all their own bred steers along with numerous clients steers into the Golden Angus branded beef program direct to the consumer in Korea.
