2007 Bull Sale Report

A top price of $16,000 was the highlight of the 2007 sale, for Clunie Range Abyss A57. Repeat buyer, Boulton Carpenter fought off stud interest to secure the son of Bando 9074, who had a great balance of growth, structure, moderate birth, large scrotal and above average IMF.

The 2nd top price bull of the day was very close behind selling for $15,500 through Alex Johnston & Co Inverell for long time client Una Denham. The 892kg Clunie Range Future A16 who was a son of Future Direction actually had the highest individual scan for both EMA and IMF. A great combination of muscle, power and marbling. They also picked up an ET bull from the yearling draft for $10,000. The Future Direction son out of the great Naomi T12 had tremendous length and structure backed up with great performance figures. This bull was a full brother to a bull sold to Victoree Angus stud in Victoria that paid $11,000 at the 2004 sale.

Repeat buyers Clive and Margaret O?Connor who have a high performing herd of quality Angus breeders at Guyra made 5 astute purchases, to a top of $6500 for the first of the yearling bulls Clunie Range Blundstone B10, who had outstanding individual performance, excellent weight for age and a proven pedigree out of Clunie Range Naomi T12.

Regular Buyers Alan and Coralee Gilogy paid $6000 for a beautiful soft easy doing son of Clunie Range Yabbie Y1. The Gilogly?s run a large commercial breeding operation as well as a feedlot, where they have fed many Clunie Range blood steers with great success.

Regular Buyer Brian McCosker purchased a Clunie Range Yabbie son for $7000 which combined growth, lots of muscle and marbling.

Wilano Angus Stud from Dunedoo were again active throughout the sale with a top purchase of $8000 for Clunie Range Avalanche A188, a son of Millah Murrah Woody who sold for $40,000 a few years ago.

First time buyer Nugent Grazing Company made two excellent purchases from the yearling draft for an average of $6000.

The Guest family were happy with the result as almost half the catalogue sold from $2500 to $4,000 which represented great value for the genetics on offer.
