The Naomi Family has been tremendously successful for Clunie Range. Our first flush of Bando 598 siblings gave us 4 females and 1 bull. The bull was Clunie Range Regency who won the $10,000 New England Angus Breeders Bull Futurity in 1997. The four sisters were all outstanding females with R7 and R8 becoming the cornerstone of our embryo programs having produced over 100 embryos. R8’s highlights include being the dam of our highest priced bull at the 2003 sale, Woomera W7 sold to Strathay Angus Stud in Western Australia and then again in 2004, selling Clunie Range Xtractor to Landfall Angus Stud in Tasmania who successfully sold X60 sons again at their 2010 sale. R8 is also the grandam of Clunie Range Ventura who sold at auction to Victoree Angus Stud for $16,000 and used heavily by a number of high quality studs.
• Clunie Range Naomi R7 was a large framed cow with outstanding femininity and style. She has left a positive impact on our herd leaving some outstanding daughters that all have retained an easy doing ability that sits so well within the Clunie Range breeding philosophy.
• Clunie Range Naomi W3 (pictured below) is an outstanding cow. She is a massive cow weighing well in excess of 900kg but she has remarkably retained an easy doing ability, and unlike many massive cows has retained an incredible feminity which she continually passes on to her progeny, leaving some beautiful daughters in the clunie range herd.. W3 has sold 14 sons at auction for an impressive average of $8428. With more progeny to come she is continuing to contribute in a huge way to the Clunie Range herd.
• Clunie Range Naomi Y41 (pictured below) combines the Naomi line with OB45 and in this case has had an outstanding result. A cow with plenty of performance as well as beautiful structure and femininity. We will have plenty of progeny by her over the next few years so stay tuned for results with her.

The Gypsy Family started as our first homebred donor line by flushing J1 a Rennovator daughter from one of our original Grimstead foundation females. J1 retired at 13 years of age and was a top performer in the herd with tremendous depth of body and doing ability. Her granddaughter Y83 sold our top priced bull in 2007 for $16,000, sired by 9074. Y7 has added growth, fertility and carcase to J1’s legacy. Y7 combines 5321, Recline, 365 and renovator bloodlines. Her son Craftsman C5 sold as a yearling was the top priced bull at our 2008 sale for $14,000.

The Twinkletoes family started from our original 5 stud females purchased from Grimstead Stud owned by Hugh Guests uncle Hugh Mulchay.
P2, was the dam of our $11000 high seller in 2001 to A&D Lanes Wilano Angus Stud at Dunedoo. A donor, S9 has shown to have outstanding carcase quality producing a line of our highest scanning IMF heifers over the past few years. X8 used as a donor is extremely thick, soft and deep bodied and again fits in really well into the Clunie Range type. Our most recent and current donors in B30 and B31 are also doing an outstanding job. In particular a current drop of “F” flush calves out of B31 (info below) by BT Equator 395M are outstanding.

The Mayflower Family originated form the highly regarded Farrer herd.
• Clunie Range Mayflower B76 (info below) is an exciting donor, with high growth and carcase merit. Her first flush was outstanding, and her first 2 sons were sold at the 2010 auction and we described both as stud sires.

During the past 12 months Clunie Range has strategically made a few purchases aimed at adding some new family lines. We purchased 5 females at the Vermont dispersal, representing the Champagne, Japara, Dream, Irene and Jestress families.
We also purchased embryos and females from both the Millah Murrah production sale and both “The Grange” and the Willalooka dispersals. The younger purchases will have to prove them first while we have commenced flushing some of the proven purchases.
